First Arriving
First Arriving integrates with Stationwise to pull your department's roster data, so your staffing information stays available in First Arriving — for example, on station dashboards — without manual entry.
First Arriving documents this integration from their side as well: Stationwise — First Arriving Support.
What Gets Synced
First Arriving reads roster data from Stationwise — who's working, when, and on which unit. First Arriving pulls this data from the Stationwise Shift API.
Each roster entry can carry the following fields, and your department chooses which of them to show on a dashboard:
- Employee name
- Employee ID
- Unit / apparatus assignment
- Station
- Shift start and end times
- Scheduled hours (First Arriving calculates these, including shifts that cross midnight)
- Rank
How It Appears on a Dashboard
First Arriving renders the roster in one of two ways, configured on their side:
- Roster table — a grid of staffing information. It can be flat or grouped by apparatus/unit, station, or rank, with configurable columns and sort order.
- Roster cards — one card per person, in either a condensed schedule-style layout with several cards per row, or a detailed layout with header, body, and footer sections.
Which days are shown
A dashboard can show today's roster, several days at once (up to 5), or a future day starting a set number of days ahead. Historical rosters are not available — First Arriving displays today and forward only.
Setup
- Create a Stationwise API key. In Stationwise, go to Settings → Administration → Integrations and click Create API Key. Give it a descriptive name (for example, "First Arriving") and copy the key — it's shown only once.
- Submit the key through First Arriving's Secrets Tool. First Arriving asks that the key be submitted through their Secrets Tool, then that the generated link be shared with them in a support ticket — never in plain email or chat. Your First Arriving point-of-contact can send you the tool link.
- First Arriving enables the integration. They use the key to turn on the integration on their end and configure the dashboard layout and fields. Once enabled, First Arriving pulls your roster data automatically.
Security note: Treat the API key like a password. Share it only through a secure channel, and revoke it from the Integrations page if it's ever exposed or no longer needed.
Getting Help
Questions about how the roster is laid out or which fields appear on a dashboard are configured on First Arriving's side — contact your First Arriving point-of-contact or their support center ([email protected]). Questions about the roster data itself, or about creating and revoking API keys, are handled by Stationwise.
